Aya let Maple cry. The young pokemon needed to get it out of her system. When the Stunky had calmed down somewhat, the Cyndaquil approached her comrade and carefully pulled Maple into a gentle embrace.

"It's okay Maple. It's okay."

They sat together for a few moments in silence. Aya softly brushed Maple's head to try and calm her nerves.

"Let's talk okay? Tell me what's on your mind."

Sniffing back her remaining tears, the Stunky sat quietly beside Aya. The Cyndaquil did not push for answers. If Maple wanted to say something, that would be her choice. Quivering slightly, Maple looked up at Aya.

"W-Will Mike come home?"

Careful with her words, Aya replied, "Yes. He'll come home. Has Mike ever let you down?"

There was an awkward pause between the two as Maple scrunched up her face at the question. With a faint chuckle the Cyndaquil continued, "I mean, when you really needed him, he's been there right?"

The fur on the Stunky's head bobbed up and down as she nodded.

"You just have to believe," Aya reassured Maple as she held the Stunky's paws with her own. "We have to believe. Have a little faith. In the time I've worked with your brother he's been dependable, despite his uncertainties. And seeing how he treasures you, he won't just leave you behind."

A weak chuckle escaped Maple as she beamed up at Aya.

"Now tell you what, lets get back to making these care packages. Your brother and all the other pokemon in the village are depending on us. He'll definitely be proud of you when he comes back. Here, let me show you how to make some bracelets."

Slowly moving away from Maple, Aya turned to reach for some string when a light punch hit her arm. Turning around in surprise, the Cyndaquil blinked at Maple.

"You better not tell brother or anyone else I cried!"

Aya couldn't hold back a playful laugh.
